High Score 2021

October 12, 2021

In early October, during High Score 2021, I had the pleasure of joining some local audio and games industry legends on a live stream panel as part of this year's online game audio event!

High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming is an online event that kicks off Melbourne International Games Week 2021! It’s free, it’s virtual and for two full days, it’s all about creating music and audio that connects us to the games we love. Running Sat 2 & Sun 3 October, people of all skill levels and from anywhere in the world are welcome to join in the discussions.

With Jini Maxwell moderating and fielding audience questions, Giselle Rosman, Abby Phillips, and I all had a great chat about game jams, and what it's like to participate in one as an audio practitioner. Whether you're a sound designer, composer, voice actor, or anything in between, everyone can enjoy a game jam, and gain some valuable takeaways. In the hour-long session on Saturday afternoon, we discussed memorable moments from our game jam experiences, and highlighted the creative and professional benefits of jamming!

LIVESTREAM PANEL: What To Expect When Jamming

What is a game jam, why are they a great starting point for your games portfolio and how do they work for audio peeps!
