Indie BYOG (Bring Your Own Game) @ GDC 2023

March 22, 2023

Indie devs of GDC 2023, BYO game for a fun night of demos & networking! Don't have a game? Mingle with indies and check out their games!

On the Tuesday night of Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2023 in San Francisco, we ran our debut Indie BYOG event. Held at Buzzworks, a quirky craft beer sports bar, this indie showcase hosted tons of exciting and unique games from indie devs and studios from all over the world.

For some indies, this might have been their first time demoing, and for some, it was one stop of many during the busy GDC week. Projects we encouraged to be shown off include WIP games, game jam projects, recently-released titles (~ 1-3 months), and any other small demos or proof of concepts.

We were impressed with the number of Australian and New Zealand studios that turned up to showcase their games on the limited number of big screens at the venue. The following titles are just a few projects that were shown in WIP form at the event, but they come from exciting ANZ indies that are building momentum both locally and internationally.

Pat Naoum Games

Ricochet Rodeo
Echidna Studios
