Six Feet Under Par

August 25, 2019

Hey all! Here's something fun.

You may remember Crossing, that wacky video I did some sound and mixing for late last year. I'm pleased to say that I've been working with comedy filmmaker and playwright, Pitters (AKA Max Paton) again on his latest short: Six Feet Under Par

Six Feet Under Par is a short comedy by Pitters. It's about exactly what you think it's about. Golf, and death. If you take a look at some other videos from his channel, you will quickly get an idea of what style of comedy we're working with. These shorts are always wacky, and are incredibly fun to work with.

I'm pleased to say that for this short, I had the freedom to create the sound design, the music, and everything in-between. The music in Six Feet Under Par is a bit of a throwback to some cheesy old-school horror movies. It's intentionally a bit campy and hits a couple of tropes.

The relationship between the music and sound, and lack of sound altogether in certain parts, creates this interesting dynamic that I think delivers comedy in such a fun and raw way.

It's been great working with Pitters on this short film. I urge you to watch it and if you like it, check out Crossing, and some of the other shorts on his channel.
