Matt Schenkel is a sound designer and musician with a background in hi-fi / home theatre. With his knowledge and experience in how game soundtracks ultimately get consumed, Matt enjoys crafting audio that sounds as good in the studio headphones as it does in the lounge room.
A passion for dynamic audio systems in games drives Matt, and for this reason, he enjoys tinkering with new methods of keeping games sounding interesting even after hundreds of hours of gameplay.
Matt has presented multiple talks on game audio and other game industry topics at conferences in Australia and abroad.
Dedicated to passing on knowledge and opportunities, Matt is always open to taking on new mentees. If you're an early-career sound designer, or moving into games from an adjacent field, and believe you would benefit from some tips/guidance, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Passionate about the local industry, Matt is on the IGDA Melbourne committee as a Venue Coordinator.
Matt graduated from SAE QANTM with a degree in Audio Production, and since then has been creating custom sound and music in Melbourne's indie game and film communities.
