Sub-Zero Sound is a Melbourne-based game-audio studio run by Matt Schenkel and Dan Penpraze. We established Sub-Zero Sound in 2016 as a means of collaborating with talented studios and developers in the Australian games industry and beyond.

Dan Penpraze is a Melbourne based audio engineer & sound designer with close to a decade in the wider gaming industry. With his wealth of knowledge, Dan understands what drives emotional investment in games, and knows how to deliver gripping moments to players in the form of expertly crafted and implemented audio.
Dan has a sharp ear for detail, and specializes in creating multi-layered, rich sound effects that will resonate with the listener.
Dan is a drummer with a background playing in the Mornington Peninsula metal music scene.
Dan graduated from SAE QANTM with a degree in Audio Engineering, with a focus on post-production for games & film.

With over 13 years of experience in video game audio, Brad specializes in delivering immersive audio experiences across a wide range of platforms, including current-gen consoles, PC, and mobile. Brad's expertise spans sound design, music composition, and technical implementation, using tools like FMOD, Unity, and Unreal.
Ben is a Sydney based game sound designer, developer, musician, and general software developer. As a sound designer, he has studio experience plus 11+ game jams where he usually composes and programs as well. As a software developer, Ben has 14+ years of experience with both startups and big companies. Ben made the iOS game, Jumpling.
Max Kearney, a Naarm-based composer and sound designer, works full-time at iRacing and collaborates on indie games. Inspired by the intersection between procedural and handcrafted, he loves the expanding potential of game audio. Max also runs the monthly work-in-progress event at Sabby Gallery and performs electronic music as 'File Explorer'.

Mitchell is Lead Sound Designer at Samurai Punk Studios where he strives to create fresh and distinctive noises for all Samurai Punk releases. He has received multiple AGDA Nominations in both sound and music for his work which includes KillBug, ScreenCheat:Unplugged and Justice Sucks.
Carl writes music and make sound effects. With over 10 years of experience in composing and 4 years in sound design, he has cultivated a wealth of knowledge that allows him to work efficiently and effectively.
